Finding Creativity In Stillness

I can write in the midst of noise but the real creativity lies in stillness. Some writers enjoy writing with music in the background. I can and have done that many times but nothing works for me like stillness, quietitude. In a state of quiet the mind seems to transcend reality and travel the paths of a different place or time. Voices of characters can more easily be heard and story situations become more real. As a writer it would be beneficial to try many different environments until you find the one where inspiration surrounds you and the thoughts and words begin to flow.
