Try Writing In Different Genres

Do you ever wonder if you could write in a genre or genres different from what you have been writing in? When I first began to write it was mostly poetry but I branched out into short stories and eventually novels. I enjoyed writing romance and later, horror. I never even hesitated to write in unfamiliar genres. Writing children's books has brought great joy to me. Inspirational and devotional books are a blessing as I pen them and I have a hope that they might be a blessing to others. Don't ever be afraid to try something new. If you try it and you think it's not something you'd want to publish, put it away for a while and go back to it later with some new ideas and editing. Never put restraints on your creativity. If you try many genres you may realize that you've not found your real niche. If you don't try you will never know!
