What Writing Has Taught Me About Myself

Other than what I learned from trials and suffering, writing has taught me so much about myself. I've learned that when you have a gift, no one can take it away from you unless you allow them to steal it. Writing has taught me that if you want to accomplish something, get on with accomplishing it and refuse to let life bog you down and steal the joy of creativity from you. Writing has given me a sense of worth when people were constantly trying to tear my worth down. Writing opened my thoughts and soul and gave me a fearlessness to express whatever I desired to express. Writing gave me a voice, where once I had no voice. Writing taught me that no matter what others accused me of or thought of me, it really didn't matter as long as I was being true to myself and the gifts God gave me. What can writing accomplish for you? You will never know until you get determined to write and follow where the craft may lead you.
