Sick and helpless

Being sick and helpless is not a pleasant experience. It stings not to be able to take care of your smallest needs. It hurts to have to rely on others, even strangers for the most intimate functions. It teaches us humility during the experience and thankfulness to God and to those willing to help us in our hour of need. It teaches joy and thankfulness when we begin to heal and once again take care of ourselves. Each milestone back to health is a celebration.
