The season is upon us again. Time for all that gift shopping, decorating, cooking and a multitude of other holiday chores and activities. You put your heart and soul into all of it. It's all so exciting and joyous but at the end of it you may feel emotionally and physically exhausted. This year give yourself a gift. Go out to eat with friends or just with your significant other. Take in all the lights and music of the season. Feel the beautiful ambiance that surrounds this time of year. Attend a parade, a church Christmas play or a contata. Center you heart and mind on God's perfect gift to all of us. Remember the reason for the season. Watch some of the old classic holiday movies, the ones that bring back memories, those films that make you cry and laugh. Read a good Christmas book and read the nativity story in your Bible. Remember to bless those who need a blessing, share what you have with those in need. Take time to just sit in a cozy chair by the fireplace and watch the energy of the children and the excitement on their faces. Hold your loved ones close and tell them you love them. Someday, if not now, it will be the last time you share a Christmas with them. Take time to rest when you are tired. Put your feet up, take a cat nap. Above all, be thankful because there is so much to be thankful for.
